My First Website Deal
February 11th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
At the end of 2006 I wrote My Goals And Wishes for 2007. One of my new years resolutions was to sell at least one website I own. With selling World Cup Corner, in the middle of January 2007, I already achieved my first goal for 2007.
I started World Cup Corner back in June 2005 to make some money and experimenting during the FIFA World Cup in Germany. At the end of 2006 the site was getting more than 50,000 unique visitors, 200,000 page views and was generating around $100 per month. About 50% of revenue came in from Google AdSense. Other income streams were Text Link Ads, Review Me, affiliate sales and Chitika.
The site was sold for $1,100 to the highest bidder at an auction on DP Forums. I didn’t expected to get rich with the deal, so at the end I was pretty pleased to get in almost one year in earnings the site was making.

MyBlogLog Buzz
January 5th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
Update: After del.icio.us and Flickr, MyBlogLog has finally been acquired by Yahoo!.
Did you notice that MyBlogLog craze is taking over the blogosphere? I tested it out when it was only a blog statistics service for tracking outbound clicks and then forget about it. There really wasn’t anything that much different to all the other web statistic options available.
Recently MyBlogLog transformed to a social networking tool for bloggers and did again get my attention. The widgets, which lets you see photos of people who recently visited your blog, are showing almost on all blogs I know. How does it work? Each MyBlogLog member who visits another site with the MyBlogLog widget installed will show up in the recent visitors list with a link to blog communities and user homepages where you will find additional information about each person.
I didn’t implement the recent visitor widget because I still don’t know where to put it but when I stumbled across MyBlogLog comment avatar plug-in I couldn’t resist not to install it in the comment section. It takes the user pictures from MyBlogLog and sticks them up as an avatar whenever someone leaves a comment.

How I Have Made Money Online In 2006
December 30th, 2006 at 5:09 pm
Time for a year-end wrap for 2006 which also happened to be the best year ever for me so far. I’m not going into exact revenue figures but just point out the programs which worked for me. Note that I received cheques from all programs below.
1. AdSense
AdSense is is probably the most steady aspect of my online income. A little more than 65% of my revenue comes from Google AdSense. The figures have doubled from the beginning of the year.
2. Affiliate programs
Have I ever mentioned how much I love affiliate programs? Although I’m barely averaging a three figure affiliate income each month, the trend is definitely up and I hope I kept at it in the next year.
3. Text Link Ads
Selling text link ads through TLA network has become a very important revenue making model for my blogs in the last couple of months in the year 2006.
4. Review Me
I wrote 4 reviews for Review Me during the last month and did get a decent amount of money for them. I wish the trend will continue and Review Me will become a steady online making money option for me.
5. Chitika
I’m still using Chitika but it doesn’t bring much money in so I’m considering leaving the program in 2007.

Win $1,000,000 With Pixelotto
December 6th, 2006 at 4:47 pm
Pixelotto is another brilliant idea (I wish I had come up with) from the creator of the Million Dollar Homepage, Alex Tew. This time Alex surprised us with his new revenue sharing model which will make one lucky person very happy.
Pixelotto offers you the chance to win $1,000,000 – just by clicking ads! On the Pixelotto Board there are 1 million pixels of ad space available at $2 per pixel. The $1m jackpot equals 50% of ad revenue once all the pixels are sold. A month after all the ad space is sold, one ad will be selected at random and a winner will be chosen from all those people who clicked that correct ad. The winner will also get to nominate a charity of their choice to receive $100,000.
