First steps with Google AdSense
June 23rd, 2005 at 3:44 pm
Probably you already noticed that I recently made my first steps in the game of making money online. I signed up with Google’s AdSense program which is perhaps the fastest and easiest way to generate revenue from a website.
What is AdSense?
If you would like to see examples of AdSense ads in action, look at the top of this website or at the end of each article (before navigation).
Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for website publishers to display Google AdWords ads on their website’s content pages and earn money. It’s also a way for website publishers to provide Google web and site search to their visitors.

How to make money from your website
June 17th, 2005 at 3:18 pm
No matter what your website is about you probably wouldn’t mind if it made you some money. You don’t have your own product to sell? No problem, you have many other options for making some extra money with your website. All you have to do is to fill your empty space with a few ads and attract a decent amount of visitors.
Advertising
If you can’t find your own advertising there are plenty of good programs out there which will put ads on your website. Of course you do give up a cut of the revenue earned to them. Most of them are very easy to setup and use. Programs like Google Adsense (already running here), Fastclick, Blog ads will serve your website with banner or text ads.

Basic ingredients before you start

This in not a recipe, it’s just a very simple question. What basic ingredients do you need, before you can start making money with your website or your blog? If you already know the answer, don’t laugh.
Website or a blog
Yes, you need a website or a blog if you wish to make money online. It’s up to you to decide what kind of website you want to set up.
Web hosting
There are a number of options that won’t cost you a thing but you might consider to spend some extra money and have your own web hosting plan. I recommend Dreamhost.

Where to start learning
June 8th, 2005 at 1:20 pm
All beginnings are hard. If I wan’t to learn how to make money online I have to learn from the people already doing it. There are plenty of sites that offer tips, tricks and other information about the topic. Some are good, some are bad but the most of them are just scams.
How do I know which sites to trust and where will I find interesting articles about the topic that interests me? Don’t forget that I’m new to this game and I have a lot to learn before I will be able to answer this question. But I have to start somewhere, don’t I? In the past days I made myself a small collection of trustet sites (listed in no particular order):
