AdSense Onsite Advertiser Sign-up
November 28th, 2005 at 3:02 pm
Google started AdSense onsite Advertising sign-up as an extension of Google site targeting that makes it easier for advertisers to bid on your site.
When you use Onsite Advertiser Sign-up, your ad units will display an ‘Advertise on this site’ link that takes advertisers to an informational landing page with details about your site and the Google AdWords advertising program. Advertisers who sign up through this page will be guided to create an ad targeted specifically to your site, and only your site. When more advertisers create and target ads to your site, you’ll benefit from the competition as it drives your potential earnings up.
At this time, you can customize only one landing page, for each account, that will advertisers see when they click on your ‘Advertise on this site’ link.

Before testing AdSense code
October 17th, 2005 at 9:38 am
When testing your new web site, you have to be very careful with AdSense code. It’s very common to reload your pages again and again. But if you pages contain AdSense code, each time you reload, you make a request to AdSense ads Server which sends you new data. Because Google is unaware that you are testing they might penalize your account.
Google AdSense policies also require that websites displaying AdSense ads must be active and not under construction.
So, how can you test your web site without violating AdSense TOS? The simplest way is to remove all AdSense code from all of your pages. Of course this is not the best solution as you won’t be able to see how AdSense fits in your layout. There are many effective solutions and workarounds which will help you not to get banned. Prevent clicks on your own AdSense ads
September 29th, 2005 at 9:34 am
Clicking on your own AdSense ads is strictly prohibited and a violation of Google TOS. If you want to prevent clicks on your own ads I can highly recommend a great Greasemonkey script that will help you not to click on your own ads.
The script currently requires Firefox and Greasemonkey. After installation, it will ask you to enter your AdSense publisher ID which is needed so that the script knows which ads to prevent clicks from.
