How to increase your CTR in AdSense
September 27th, 2005 at 1:34 pm
Darren from ProBlogger.net wrote a great post about CTR in Adsense. CTR is click through rate - or the percentage of people that view pages with ads on them that click on them.
If you would like to know, why is comparing CTR between sites a problem or you would like to find out a few ways to to increase your own CTR, then look at Darrens list:
- CTR varies between topics,
- CTR relates to Ad relevancy,
- CTR can vary seasonally,
- CTR varies between reader types,
- CTR varies between ad design and placement options,
- CTR varies depending upon other site design factors,
- CTR varies depending upon other options to ‘click’.
Read Darrens full post and you will get a lot more details about each point in his list. But don’t expect to get numbers from real life examples because revealing CTR is against AdSense TOS.

Thanks for pointing this article out. I am going to have to read that. I need to start working on my ads more. Hey, by the way… the link to Darren’s post doesn’t work. There is a tag stuck in there. But, anyway.. Thanks for the headsup on the Article.
